As I near the end of my second month of Thunder Road Guitars being open I can’t help but to think about how much globalization is in effect today. For example, earlier this week I got an email from a customer in Australia. He mentioned he would be in Seattle with a friend of his and would like to stop by TRG headquarters and check out an instrument. Of course I welcome him and show him the goods we have to offer. After a few hours he leaves with a great guitar, a personal tour of Seattle, and a new friend. This scenario would not have been a reality 20 years ago. There is no way.
Another example. I listed a beautiful and rare Telecaster on my site earlier this week. To make a long story short it got snagged up real quick. But to my surprise it was purchased by a fellow in the UK. We talked on the phone for quite some time. He told me stories of him playing in bands when he was a young bloke and all the guitars he had come across in his many years of playing and collecting. The man had some stories I tell ya!
These situations and experiences really make me love what I do. The fact that I can communicate with a customer half-way around the world and hook them up with a guitar they will love, play, and cherish is amazing and makes coming into the office worth it everyday. So, whether you’re right down the street from me, or in Australia THANK YOU! Thank you for the support and your business. Keep an eye out in the next few days, we will be listed some fantastic guitars!
