Description

Check out this great piece of Rickenbacker history! The iconic Rickenbacker 4001 in classic Mapleglo finish, with the original checkerboard binding that was a signature of this era. The tuners, nut, and neck pickup have been swapped out, but the original bridge pickup, pots, and bridge are still kicking. We believe the hard shell case is original as well!

It's in Very Good vintage condition with a little fret wear and some finish wear, most prominently a large area of deterioration on the back at the base of the neck. The neck pickup was replaced and amateurly routed, but is fully functional. Otherwise, this one just has all the normal light scratches and dings you'd expect to see on a 1973 bass with a history of being played.

Freshly inspected and set up in-house by our esteemed Guitar Tech.

NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:

We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.

We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us to ask any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
