Up for sale is a 1977 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail in its original Mocha finish. I love hard tail Strats from this era. I must say a vast majority of these Mocha Hardtails are often lightweight in comparison to other mid to late 70s Strats, not sure why, but they tend to be. This one falls into that category weighing 7lbs 8oz. Originality wise, the bridge pickup has been changed (other two are original grey bottoms). Visible pot codes are 1377620 dating to the 20th week of 1976. Neck stamp is present and dates to 1977. One pot has been changed, the tuners have been changed, strap buttons changed and an additional strap button has been added directly above the neck plate. Condition wise the guitar is in good shape but certainly shows its share of dings, dents, scratches, finish wear and finish checking. The original frets are worn but functional. If you prefer tall full height frets I might recommend having the guitar refretted. Overall a cool and fun vintage Strat!
Weight: 7lbs 8oz
Pro setup in house and comes complete with a vintage but not original case
NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:
We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.
We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
