Description

Up for sale is an absolutely stunning 1942 (1936-1942 era) Gibson L-0 in its original black finish. The FON on this guitar reads 7724B with II in red pencil. The specs of this guitar are essentially the same as the L-00 but with top and back binding on the body. Modifications include an over-sprayed headstock face with a likely re-done painted logo. The bridge has been either replaced with a taller bridge or has a shim underneath it. bridge pins have been replaced with an older set included. There are a few top, back and side cracks, I am unsure if they have been repaired or not. The action is fair but feels on the slightly high side in the upper register. The string height at the 12th fret is 4mm on the bass side and 3mm on the treble. For lower action a neck reset would be in order. Pro setup in house and comes complete with a modern non original hard case. Weight: 3lbs. 10oz.

NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:

We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage products as accurately as possible in our listings.  Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so.  We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument.  Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.

We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear.  If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have.  Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
