Up for sale is a late 1940s - mid 1950s (1947 - 1956) Gibson LG-3. The reason for the ambiguity is that we lack the factory order number (FON) for this instrument; we are dating this guitar based solely on the logo, pickguard, neck shape, X bracing and bridge style. As shown in the photos this guitar is basically wrecked, fully refinished (including the fingerboard), cracked, patched, broken and caved in. That said, it is strung up and plays halfway decently. The tone is mild, woody and dry which provides a cool take on the tone these typically have. Please see the photos that show the extent of damage, wear and modifications.
Being this guitar is in poor condition it is being sold as is with no returns or exchanges. If the photos don't scare you, smash the buy it button. If they do, please give us a call for an in-hand description. Weight: 3lbs. 7oz.
NOTE TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS:
We want you to be happy with your purchase and we try to represent the condition of all used and vintage guitars as accurately as possible in our listings. Every used guitar shows some signs of play wear and vintage models even more so. We call out all areas of damage or unusual wear, and describe the overall condition based upon what is "normal" for the age of the instrument. Expect to see minor dings, finish checking, or other evidence of normal use and aging which may not be captured by photography or explicitly mentioned in the listing.
We recognize that everyone has their own personal standard of what constitutes acceptable wear and tear. If play wear is especially critical for you, please contact us at the Shop for a complete in-hand description and to answer any questions you may have. Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to us.
